When you believe in things that you don't understand, you suffer. - Stevie Wonder

Believe in something that YOU understand. Stop trying to rationalize life and it's paradoxes, you'll fail. If you "knew" that you were going to die, you would live like it, but you're not, so what does that say about death? If death is a part of life and life is what you make it, then death is also what YOU make it. I die every day I go to sleep and sometimes I wake up in new worlds, I have no problem with dying, I have a problem with living around people that keep me from enjoying it.

Don't worry about such things. Let your creativity do it's work and build a universe that YOU can enjoy, forever, because this world can only help you so much. Don't underestimate your consciousness.

I don't believe the point of living is to procreate and continue the human race. I mean, procreation happens-- but I think it happens so that we can continue to produce individuals that make their * own * reasons to exist.

What makes life so precious that you * don't * have infinite time. That means that what you do now is important and special and can never be recreated. All you have to do is find ways to be happy, and keep doing that. Death is scary for everyone, but that just means we're all in on this together. There is a connection between you and me and every human out there, and that connection is the preciousness of life. Don't waste your life preparing for death, and don't reduce your worth to your ability to reproduce. We are all much more than that, because we are capable of thinking critically, of dreaming, of creating art, of expressing emotion, of changing lives, and of spreading hope. Being human has afforded you a lot of precious abilities you might not have even realized.

Forge your own path in this hectic world. Everyone knows you can't thoroughly enjoy a party if you're busy obsessing that it's going to end; you'll be too busy obsessing to ever dance! Enjoy life for what it is right now, this instant. Every day, find something you're thankful for. The big things, the little things, and everything in between.

You are an important person with a lot to do on this earth. Your life is about quality, not quantity. And that doesn't mean you have to feel pressured to go out and trek through a desert or climb the highest mountain-- it just means you should focus on being happy and do what you can to spread that feeling.

    Franklyn,

When I started having panic attacks, the first thing that I started getting panicky about was death. I was scared of dying, whether I would go to Heaven or Hell, and I would feel trapped on this earth. There are many life questions that don't have answers. All we can do is believe that God will help us, and keep us safe. God loves everyone, and he wants us all to be happy.

How about this. We don't know what's after death. For all we know we're in the blood vessel of a giant manatee. We might serve every purpose or no purpose, but nature doesn't make purposeless things, does it? As far as I'm concerned, if we believe there's something after death, either way we won't be disappointed.
