Where can I find a friendly furry website?
Can anyone recommend some friendly furry websites to me?
I've been a closeted fur for quite some time now due to being shamed into silence. I'm really very shy and tend to stray away from social sites due to fear of rejection. But I'm ready to socialize a bit and meet new people.
No rude or ignorant comments, please and thank you.

There are lots of furry websites.
FurAffinity.net--the most commonly used/popular
Furry4Life.org--sort of like the facebook for furries
[all the rest I have accounts on but rarely visit so I can't give good descriptions]
SoFurry.com
Furango.com
Furnation.com
Furriehaven.com
FurriesXtreme.org (the more mature version of Furry4Life)
Furrybookies.com
Furtopia.org
Iamfurry.com
Myfur.net
And sites that aren't specifically furry but are popular with furries are Inkbunny.net and Tumblr.com.
Also, if you want to really meet furries and make friends, I totally recommend you attend a furry convention. You'll have a total blast, will make lots of friends and meet lots of like minded people, and you'll love the complete freedom of expression that eliminates any sense of shame to simply be who you are. Just as in everyday life, not every acquaintanceship will turn into friendship, but you'll have a much greater chance of making friends within the furry community than in everyday life.

I do not think there is such thing as a friendly social media site in general. Furaffinity is the largest, so I would think you would have the best chance of socializing with furries that are like you. But Tumblr, Facebook, Youtube, etc all have furry groups that can be just as nice. Just not everyone on all of those websites, it is who you choose to associate with. There are nice furries and mean furries, you will find friends.
People aren't as mean to furries as you might think, its just a few people who happen to be obnoxious. When I wore my tail in public, I had not a single bad comment. I did get to see some other furry however. Dont be afraid to show some outward furry pride because of others.
