I GOT BACK INTO MY MAIL! Tip that may help others:?

So, I had been locked out of yahoo mail for the past 36+ hours. I finally just got back in! Triumphant grin :)

I had tried lots of things in a vain attempt, then this worked:

I turned off mail on all my mobile devices (iPad and iPhone). I logged out of yahoo. Then I cleared my cache and cookies in my web browser and then closed my browser (safari). I got back online, logged into Yahoo and was able to view my mailbox!

Hope this may be helpful for anyone still unable to login. Good Luck!!

Logging out, clearing cache, and restarting your browser may work for some, but for a lot of us the problem was with Yahoo's hardware failure, and there was no workaround.

They appear to have restored access, but restored our accounts to an earlier point in time, so now there are no December emails in any folder, and any changes you may have made (like deleting, flagging, reading or unreading) after the end of November are all undone. I'm slowly having emails coming in now, some from the time Yahoo Mail was inaccessibe. and some from tonight, but even the current ones are delayed, and not all are being delivered.

Here's something slightly hopeful about the missing emails:

    Update 12/11/13 5:00 pm PST

Most affected users should now be able to access their Yahoo Mail accounts on the web and our apps for iOS, Android and Windows 8. Most users should be able to log into their accounts, and send and receive messages. We're continuing to restore access for all affected users.

You'll notice that your most recent messages may not be appearing in your Inbox. We're starting to deliver emails that were sent to you during the outage. Because we have a backlog, it may take us a bit of time but rest assured we're trying to deliver them as fast as we can.

For some of you, emails between 11/25 and 12/9 may not be showing up in your Inbox — we're still working on bringing all accounts up to date. We're also working on restoring IMAP and POP access for those of you accessing your email through a non-Yahoo app (such as Outlook, Apple Mail, or the native mail app on your phone). For more information, please see our help article about setting up Yahoo Mail on a mobile device with POP or IMAP.

Again, we’re sorry for the inconvenience this is causing. We'll continue to provide updates to this page.

I was able to log on but lost all emails from 11/29/13 to 12/11/13 evening. Did this happen to you?
