Will PS3 games ever work on PS4 in the future?
I'm going to have to sell my PS3 if I want to get a PS4
I know it doesn't work natively but I've been reading up on Playstation's Gaikai service.
How does it work? Will be able to play the disc games that I bought for PS3 or would it work a different way? Because I don't want to have to sell my favorite games for $0.50 at Gamestop plus I'd like to play them again sometime

I suggest hanging onto your PS3.... and just wait until you can afford a PS4. All the good AAA titles have been delayed until next year anyways. And Dark Souls 2 and Persona 5 are PS3 only releases that are due Next Year, as well... Early March for Dark souls 2. Don't know when Persona 5 is to be released, probably around June or something..
As for Gaikai... I don't expect that to work well unless you have a very expensive service of internet. Ever remote desktop? That's what Gaikai will be based of off. You'll be controlling a computer via remote desktop from a PS4...and will be playing games that way through it. Without a very high speed internet provider on both ends, I don't see this working without input lag.
If you wanna see what remote desktop software looks like...Try the Online Trial version of Autodesk Revit 2014.

I know that by just putting the ps3 disc in the ps4 they won't work but I believe there is some way you can change that by changing the console settings somehow
