Speicalized police officer?
I am wanting to apply for a job and one of the requirements states that I must be willing to get trained as a specialized police officer. What is this? And how long does it take?

Not specialized but special police. That is a security guard who has been trained and is authorized to have police powers in a limited area, such as the grounds of the hospital you are employed at as a security guard.
Your employer pays you and pays for training. The power of a special police is only when employed by the original employer (not transferable) and only while working.
In my state the training is 8 weeks long.
