Random numbers keep calling me?

Question

Okay so I have been getting random phone calls from all kinds of different places. This has been going on for about 2-3 months now and it's really starting to annoy me. The places where the people are calling from are no way near where I live. They all look like fake phone numbers in my opinion. Most of them will call me when it's 6 or 7am and wake me up. I get around 5 calls each morning and about 5 more throughout the day. Everytime I answer I say "STOP CALLING THIS NUMBER" and they'll usually hang up. But then another will call from a totally different place. It's really starting to piss me off and there's no way for me to really stop them as seeing blocking won't help. So I guess what I'm asking is, do any of you know why this is happening and is there a way to make them stop? Also, is anybody else having this problem? Thank you.

Update:

Also one of them that called me didn't even look like a phone number. It looked like this : 54765221 (Those weren't the numbers it had though). It didn't have any of these - in it like it usually does it didn't have the area code in parenthesis or anything it was just a bunch of random numbers put together.

Its possible your number got into some spamming voip bot. It happened to me also as I frequently use online buying selling. And these days random automated voip marketing bots calls me in my cellphone with their pre-recorded advertisement.

Okay, here some solutions,
1. Use call blocker by setting ''Ignore Unknown Number ''
2. If you have an Android cellphone there is a option 'Do Not Disturb' mode in 4.4 KitKat. You can set it to ignore calls from unknown numbers. Also you can set it like Ring phone if the caller calls more than once.

3. Worst you can do is change your number.

As I guessed, these are VOIP(voice over internet protocol) numbers. Its possible they can be operators or advertising company. Follow one of the steps I suggested, might save you from future troubles.

I have been getting calls too. It's been ongoing for several months (at lease 6 or 7). I get a call, answer it "Hello?" and then no one says anything! I repeat myself and it hangs up!! So I try to call back and I either get a message saying the number is not valid, disconnected or some other crap or it rings 4 or 5 times then goes like a "busy" signal, or it rings and then sounds like a FAX!!! They never say anything when they call or else I can't get anyone when I call back!!! Wish I could help, but as you can see, I'm ALSO pissed about this!!!

I keep on getting random number too like Florida Texas new York California and other state but I don't answer them tho it is so annoying

first they had our home numbers, then they got our cell numbers. theyve been pissing us off for 40 more years, and theyll probably still call us when we get phones implemented into our head or some ****. No way to get rid of em, just ignore those fags.
