Can you get sick drinking from?

My mom seems to think that I can get sick from drinking from the same plastic gallon of what was juice but now is water.

My lips only touched it nobody elses. She thinks that like chemicals from the plastic will get mixed with it.

she is right. there was a chemical found in the plastic called PVA... If the bottle says PVA free, then it is safe.

No you'll be fine. If "chemicals in the plastic" turn water poisonous, why would they put juice in it in the first place? Wouldn't the juice turn poisonous too? Think about it.

You can use the plastic bottle for drinking water for a few weeks, just rinse it out regularly. After maybe a month though, the chemicals WILL start to degrade and break down (disposable bottles are only made for temporary use) so when the water starts to taste funny you should change it out.

Or just buy a real drinking bottle made for long-term use.
