HELP! My computer is not responding properly. McAvey says no virusus. What can be done?

If you have no signs of a virus it is probably just needing a tune up. Try cleaning up Firefox's cache first. in the open browser go to >Tools >Options >Advanced and select >Network, from there select "Clear Now". When you are done with this, close the browser . Go to my computer and double click on it. Find the hard drive that has your system on it (usually the (C:) drive). Right click on it and select Properties from the drop down menu (at the very bottom). In the new window find the "disk Clean up" button and click it. Your system will run a scan and find files and such you can safely delete, some will already be preselected click the check box of any other items you would like to have performed.(leave it be if you aren't sure) Click ok and let it do its thing. When it is done you will want to run a De-fragmentation. In the drive properties window select the "Tools" tab and select "defragment now" button. Again let it do it's thing. It will first analyze the disk and give you results in a pop up widow. If it tells you to defragment turn off your screen saver if you have one and make sure the computer does not go into "sleep mode" first. Select defragment now or OK in the pop up window and let that run. (this part could take a long time so patients will be required). When it is done your system should run a little bit faster.
