What do people mean by me as a "cartoon character"?

They said that I'm a clown after that and some girl just suddenly laugh when I speak. I don't get it. I'm confused.

    I have always taken that to mean you act in a strange and goofy manner, defying the real world, but like a cartoon character is, one way or another, defying things in their world (logic, gravity, physics). Whether you take it as a compliment or an insult depends on who is saying it to you.
