College Graduation: I feel like a loser, can anyone help?

Well, I realize that socially, your experience has been pretty bad, but you can pat yourself on the back for working hard, realizing that the people you were initially socializing with were potential pitfalls, and for getting to your graduation. These are all positives, things to be very proud of. They may have come at the expense of a great social life, but frankly, your degree is the most important thing.

It doesn't matter whom you walk with. The graduation lasts just a few hours anyway. What matters now is your future, how you're going to establish a circle of friends as you embark on life outside of college. You will need to make a conscious effort, perhaps by getting involved in some after work/weekend activities of interest to you. And as you begin your first job, be friendly and open to socializing (though maybe not dating a colleague). You won't like everyone you meet, but you will surely meet SOME people who will become good friends. You just have to be open to the possibilities.

You might not even walk, depends on how many students there are. If you have to walk with someone, so what? Just walk with the random person you get put with.

Nothing to make you feel better, I mean you did not find good friends in college. That is kind of depressing because some of your best life friends come from college. I also transferred, I managed to find wonderful people, but not everybody does. What I mean is that transferring is not a big enough reason here...you will find friends later in life, this is not the end. Just because you took a different path does not mean it is a terrible one.. Just keep your head up. Be happy that you are done and completed something signifcant in your life though, congrats! It is lie that you will "not see most of your friends" though, I talk to my college friends a lot, and I visit them once a year or so. You have to speak for yourself, and I am 28 and I still do this. You find friends, you keep them, that is how friendship works and how you work for a friendship.

Many of the graduations from my experience (both as a spectator and participating) has been based on alphabetical order and based on which program you were in. This means if you were in the nursing program, you would be walking with the rest of the nursing majors, if you were in business administration, you would walk with all the other business majors and so on and so on. So if you do decide to participate in the actual walking, you may see a lot of familiar faces in the crowd.

Even if you had friends at this university, you would all be about to graduate and move on with your lives and you probably wouldn't see most of them again anyway.
