How do you get picked for varsity or junior varsity cross country?

Do you go to a practice and run? and then the coach picks you or??

    Normally, upper class man are put onto Varsity. If you're a senior you're spots already guaranteed. You have to be really good to make it onto Varsity depending on the times of your teammates, But what happens about 80% of the time is you go to practice and then do time trials and he'll judge you accordingly. Then, he'll let you run at your first meet and he'll take people on and off varsity depending if they get better or worse. Although, people will keep improving unless they get injured.

    Usually lower classmen are automatically put into JV and higher classmen are in varsity. Then the coach moves players around based on times and stamina. Ask your coach as it depends on him to choose.
