Help!! Printing on burlap!?

I have somewhat of an idea from searching on google but I still have some questions. I put the freezer paper shiny side down on the burlap....then do I transfer the image from freezer paper on the other side? Like should the back have freezer paper while transferring? I also wanted to know if I could use a sharpie to draw on the paper before transferring. I know it needs to be backwards so I will print out a stencil but I want the letter to be decorated inside

I'm making my own version of a sign for a Christmas present, the sign I was going to buy wont even be shipped for 3 weeks.

Please help me!

Couldn't you just make a stencil from the freezer paper and then use fabric paint on the cut away part of the stencil, thereby applying the paint to the fabric? I'd also pin your stencil to the fabric before applying the fabric paint.

What are you using to "print" with?

This video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFnTY4VXJJY for printing on burlap has nothing to do with stencils or transferring - the plastic side of the freezer paper is melted to the burlap and the paper acts as a stiffener to carry the burlap through the printer which directly prints on the burlap.

If you want to stencil on burlap, that is something else and nothing in your description connects with transferring

This discussion http://www.domestically-speaking.com/2011/04/69th-... of stenciling with freezer paper makes it clear that you cut through the pattern paper to cut the freezer paper (no tracing, no freezer paper on the back) and then iron on the freezer paper to glue it (plastic side to the burlap) and after stenciling using normal stencil tapping, you let the paint dry and peel the paper off.

Nothing about reversing, transferring, or all that jazz. So if you want advice on a particular technique, maybe a link to one or two of your sources would help.
