What is wrong with the FDA?

It seems like they allow everything as long as it is making compaines more of the "almighty dollar", and only ban materials when use of that said material is low (trans fat, bpa in baby bottles, etc.) Is it just me, or is the FDA really this corrupt?

It is that ccorrupt, especially considering they have not yet laid down higher standards for the mass produced, poorly treated, and malnourished livestock! And not forgetting the increasingly catastrophic effects of the growing amounts of harmful pesticides we consume on a daily basis, causing new health issues and worse allergic reactions. Lastly, the GMO's in most of our foods, particularly our crops, also causing new and worsening problems for people.

All this is corruption continuing and getting more hazardous is, yes, literally being funded by huge corporations etc.

Plus they knowingly let poisons into our food supply and pass dangerous drugs like Fen-Phen, Accutane, and every single psychiatric drug on the market. No wonder the crazies don't take their meds. But cannabis remains illegal despite showing potential to treat a gamut of diseases. The FDA is one of the most corrupt departments of the government. Think more corrupt than the NSA and the ATF combined.

partially hydrogenated trans fats are allowed in foods and up to half a percent of trans fats are allowed without even needing to be mentioned thanks to the FDA
