Rubella is the scientific name for the German Measles, caused by a Paramyxovirus. The other measles is also known as Rubella, a Togavirus. The diseases are different too.

@Maria, the question is "What is the difference between [rubella] and measles" not "What is the difference between [rubella] and German measles".

Goob, you're back again! Rubella is German measles, also called 3-day measles and is caused by the rubella virus. Measles is rubeola and is caused by the measles virus.

You know I can't give you all the answers to your quiz or homework.

I believe they are different configurations of the same viral agent, presenting different m.o. and behaviour; not sure though.
