Can I use my Monitor and HDTV for separate screens from my PC?

My PC tower only has one VGA output, can I get a splitter of some kind to send it from the tower's VGA to the monitors VGA and my TV's HDMI? I know VGA splitters only duplicate the image, that's why I want to know about HDMI. Can I see two different things on the TV and PC monitor with a certain type of setup?

What you need is External Video Card that you can plug in into your USB port. You can use it as separate screen or duplicate.

    Look for it at ebay.com
