Why isn't my monitor recognizing my tower?

I recently built a gaming PC and am having problems getting my tower to send signal to my monitor...what are some possible reasons for this?

I have tried running DVI from the GPU and stilll...

    What is your GPU? Do you see the BIOS start up when you first power on the computer? Do you get any POST messages (beeps that don't normally happen)?

    Could be that you either didn't install the GPU correctly or your PSU doesn't have enough wattage to run the card. Go back to your install guide and check and make sure you plugged in the power plugs that most GPUs require now. If you installed it all correctly then go here http://images10.newegg.com/BizIntell/tool/psucalc/... and check to see if your PSU has enough Wattage. You should usually have about 100W more than what the calculator tells you, just in case.
