Do you now OR WILL YOU IN THE FUTURE require sponsorship for a work visa in order to be able to accep?
Someone please explain this. I have a valid H-1B visa through my employer. I am searching job right now and I don't know what to respond to this. Should I respond No, since I already have a valid work visa?
What job types can I apply for? Eg.: Contract to contract, temporary/contract/project
Also can you explain the job types I can apply for? I know i should not apply for contract to hire, full time, direct hire, contract independent, w2, 1099.
I applied for a position with job type fulltime, temporary/contract/project. But I got rejected saying that I cant work since the employer is not ready to sponsor me. I couldn understand why should he sponsor me for H-1B when i already have one.

Your visa is only valid for working at your CURRENT employer.
You need sponsorship in order to accept a different job. You need a permanent job only. They will not be able to get you a visa for a temp, contract, 1099, or agency job.

H1-b visas are specific to the employer. You ONLY have temporary permission to work in that specific position for that specific employer. Leave your current job, and your visa's validity ends on the last day worked.
You must answer "yes" to this Q since you would require a new visa to work for a new employer. Position must be a full-time job in a traditional employer-employee relationship. NO independent contractor, part-time, temporary, contract, self-employment, etc. And "body shops" are illegal. You cannot sign up with any agency and get "farmed out" to another company for a project. Only the actual end-user - a genuine employer - can apply for any visa for you.
If the employer is not both willing and ABLE to sponsor an employee for a new H1-b visa, they cannot hire you. The employer must first prove there are no Americans qualified & available for the job. That's hard to do when over 33 million Americans are looking for work. Real unemployment rate is 23.5%.

If you are on H-1B, you require sponsorship. If you change jobs, your sponsorship from your current employer will likely end. Therefore, the answer is: yes, I will need sponsorship to accept this job.
Unless you have a sponsor outside of your current employer, which is not usually the case. Unless your actual sponsor is a contractor, subbing you out.

When you leave your present job, you no longer have a valid H1B. Your present visa is only good for your current employer.
If you want another job, that employer has to sponsor you for another H1B.

You can only work for the Company that sponsored your Visa no one else
