Rehoming Guinea Pigs.?

We got them 6 months ago for our teenager and he has lost interest in them. I take care of them in every way. I think they are adorable and cuddly but we also have two kittens. I am not taking the pigs out as often as I used to and feel bad about it. They are well taken care of otherwise. Should I rehome them or will they be ok. There are two of them the cage is 30x30 in with a second level that is half that 30x15 inches. They get good food, pellets and hay and have toys.

The cage is too small for them to be in it most of the time. The absolute minimum for 2 guinea pigs (female) is 7.5sq ft or 10.5sq ft for 2 males, the cage is 6.2sq ft. Even with a second level it's too small, especially as ramps take up floor space.

Guinea pigs can easily live 6 years and up to 8 or even 10 in some cases. If you're not willing or able to devote enough time to give them lots of attention like they deserve then it would be kindest to rehome them so they can go to a family who has more time to look after them :)

Guinea pigs can live for 5-6 years quite easily, if you cannot devote the time to them then I suggest you rehome them.

Rehome them it is the best for all of you.

Take them to a shelter or a guinea pig rescue if you can.

Yes you need to rehome them. Find your local rescue or RSPCA branch. The cage is tiny and they need daily handling and floor time.
