Why do people believe in god?
I mean seriously why. So apperently to everyone there is a magical god that lives in the heavens and he is the all mighty and powerful god who can do pretty much everything. He could help us with life but he wont because apperently the world was decided of Adam and Eve. Seriously --.-- Its stupid and on top of that there are like thousands of other gods different cultures believe in. So why believe in it. I just think it was made up for people to have something to hope for even though that made up thing wont help you. Deep inside everyone knows this but there are those people who still worship and believe in god. So why do you believe i god. I mean whats the reason to believe in something thats not there :p

When asked to describe my thoughts on GOD and Religion my train of thought led me right to gravity. . .
You can’t see gravity, You can’t taste it, I just know one thing for certain, that it exists.
The mystery's of faith an GOD are beyond human comprehension
Faith concerns questions which cannot be settled by evidence.
I feel bad that if someone does not have faith they would want others to agree with them!
How can the universe create itself out of nothingness? Given the fact that the universe began to exist, it must have had a “cause” that originated it.Doesn't it make more sense to assume the existence of a Creation. The question is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that GOD came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, “What does blue smell like?” Blue is not in the category of things that have a smell, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, GOD is not in the category of things that are created or caused. GOD is uncaused and uncreated—He simply exists.
We know that from nothing, nothing comes. So, if there were ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence, then nothing would have ever come into existence. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been in existence. That ever-existing being is what we call GOD ,GOD is the un-caused Being that caused everything else to come into existence. God is the uncreated Creator who created the universe and everything in it.
The universe requires a cause because it had a beginning, GOD unlike the universe, had no beginning, so he doesn’t need a cause. Einstein’s theory of general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space. Since GOD is the creator of the whole universe, he is the creator of time. Therefore He is not limited by the time dimension He created..@
Life without GOD is like an un- sharpened pencil it has no point..
You can't see the wind, but you know it is there because you can see what the wind is doing. You can know that the wind is there because you can feel it.GOD is like the wind, you can't see him

That is not all I have to say though. There is a God. So you think somehow, this planet, was miraculously put in the perfect position to sustain life? You think that we evolved from apes? You think that somehow. A micro organism evolved into something, that evolved into something, that evolved into something, that evolved into an ape? Now religion, today, is... Well, not to put down any one's religion or anything. (With all due respect). Major religions today seem corrupt. Every religion talks about peace, yet they encourage soldiers that are fighting wars. You see on the news about a new thing that a religion is putting into practice. Now some religions are allowing gay marriages and things that the bible considers unclean conduct. (Again all due respect to all views of life). But there is one religion, that stays true to the bible, that encourages everyone to read from the bible daily. That doesn't have social classes or ranks within the religion itself. Everyone in the religion is unpaid, they are all volunteers to preach the good new that is to come. They are the only ones putting into practice what Jesus said "Go therefore and make disciples." I mean really, if you read the most accurately translated bible "The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures" you can see that there is no way all these things could have happened by chance. The prophecies in the bible. They could not have happened by chance. If you think they were written after they happened guess again. There are prophecies for even today. Is the Bible outdated? Of course not. It provides valuable info that helps us to live our life to the full and as happily as possible. I recommend, Please view the website. Take a look around watch some of the videos. read some of the articles. You will be glad that you did. It has a ton of great info that we can apply to our every day lives.

I believe because of this:
In 1980, a woman, Catherine, was being hypnotized by psychiatrist Dr Brian Weiss as a solution to her uncontrollable anxiety and nightmares. Unexpectedly, while under hypnosis, Catherine began to narrate events from a previous lifetime and convey messages from the "in between lives" state. These are some of the messages she relayed while under hypnosis:
“There are different levels of learning, and we must learn some of them in the flesh. We must feel the pain. When you're in physical state in the flesh, you can feel pain; you can hurt. In spirit form you do not feel pain; there is only happiness, a sense of well-being.”
"We all must learn certain attitudes while we're in physical state. Charity, hope, faith, love - we must all know these things and know them well."
"OUR TASK IS TO LEARN, TO BECOME GOD-LIKE THROUGH KNOWLEDGE. We know so little. By knowledge we approach God, and then we can rest. Then we come back to teach and help others."
Many Lives Many Masters - Dr Brian Weiss
A graduate of Columbia University and Yale Medical School, Brian L. Weiss M.D. is Chairman Emeritus of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami.

You do not have the slightest inkling of understanding of the Catholic church if you think that the creation story should be taken literally. The legitimacy of the faith is overwhelming. It has also made a much more positive of an impact than you or any other single group of people in the history of mankind. If you are trying to say that this global proponent of the common good is not worth believing in, then you are sorely mistaken.

We are hard wired to believe in something, however ridiculous. The thought of nothing after death is more than mankind can handle. The belief in God is innate, it's religion that's ridiculous.

Because some people can admit that human understanding and comprehension is limited.
People can see that a universe created for no purpose and is purely accidental, does not make sense.

Well, is hard question, because there are many answers and motives. But I must to say that : It's impossible to live without god.

Our faith comes from hearing the Word of God.
There are other gods but the God of the Bible is the One who loves us and gave His life so that we could be forgiven and live with Him in Heaven.
The Bible, because of the length of time it took to write it and what it is about, verifies with past history and fulfilled prophecies it’s truth. For one, look at Isaiah 53 which foretells Jesus and what would happen to Him. It did happen. Isaiah 53 was written about 600 years before Jesus' birth. The Bible contains 66 separate books, which were written by thirty six men who were chosen by God to script His words. This took place over 1600 years and the evidence is in the events and the purpose of the scriptures.
The purpose of the entire Bible is to tell us about our condition of being separated from God because of our sins, God's plan to bring a Savior to die in our place for our sins, Jesus' birth, life, death and resurrection, that God's prophecy has taken place and about our invitation to belong to God as His adopted children through acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and our Savior.
The Bible is God's written Word to us.
It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.
“Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20-21. (New International Version)
