Current Output on DC PSU?

I have a device that runs on a PSU spec of 12VDC (Solid line on top and dashed on bottom) 6.5A, which is no longer working properly. I have another PSU with spec 12VDC (Solid line on top and dashed on bottom) 19A - will this work on my device or will this destroy my device because it is rated at 19A? Is the 19A a maximum value or constant output. Thank you!

It will work fine. The unit will supply whatever current is needed by the device up to 19 amps. As long as the voltage is the same you will be ok
