The biological aspects of one’s life could be altered somewhat by medicine and science, but the genes that an?

individual are born with are ultimately the genes an individual will have.

should it be,,, (is) or (are) born with, to be grammatically correct?

It should be "are" born with as the word there is describing the word "genes", not "individual". Since genes is plural (the singular form being gene), then this word must be plural, thus the reason "are" is correct. Hope this helps.
