Christmas Idea On behalf of the homeless and those hit by hard times this holiday season.?

I asking those of us who do not need anything. instead of getting gifts for ourselves, request items that can be given to the homeless or just give your time to help someone in need. warm clothing and throws that we no longer use would make good gifts to the homeless.

You're preaching to a concrete forum here, have you seen the spoiled brats in this section!

My family & I take up collections for others year round. I've been part of our giving tree since I was 4, so 20 yrs. now. My mum knits throws for the homeless & our family helps cook at the soup kitchen and delivery it to the elderly shut ins.

We collect donations for the animal shelter, supply gifts for kids, & donations for fire victims every day.

People should 'donate' all year - not just around the holidays. That idea makes as much sense as when grouchy relatives start being nice in an attempt to get into the pearly gates.

Have a great holidays & start with your community on this thought!

Source(s): I'm a hearing impaired guy with a large family. We have a giving tree set up year round at our family business so those in our community know who's in need and can help donate to the cause.

Why should this only be at Christmas, my wife and I give as much as we can every week to help feed and clothe underprivileged children in the Philippines, but we will be giving them some extra at Christmas, school supplies as Christmas presents.
