Can you get a job to do with mythology?
I'm really interested in mythological creatures and I've been writing a heap of my own novels with mythical creatures in it, but I was wondering, is actually a job you can get to do with mythology? I'm really interested in this subject because I like fantasy stuff but it writing books but I really want to know if there's anything you can do apart from writing.
Anybody know???

To preface, "mythology" in academia is generally classified as "folklore." Research into folklore is called "folkloristics" which in turn is part of a broader field called cultural anthropology.
The study of myths/folklore is quite a narrow field, so job opportunities are rather limited and they are mainly professorial positions in anthropology with folklore as the primary area of research. However, a degree in cultural anthropology (with a possible specialization in folkloristics) would provide you with the training you need to research myths/folklore AND would leave doors open to other types of work too. Landing your dream job would be ideal, but it's also wise to have a Plan B in case that doesn't work out.

No, you basically nailed it with the story writing.
Outside of that, a teaching job is about your only other option and most teachers only touch on mythology topics.
