How do I dispose of broken microscope objectives?

I work at a college, and we have a bunch of ruined 40X objectives lying around. I have not been able to find anything on the internet about how to dispose of them and/or if they need to be disposed of in a certain way. Are they recyclable like cellphones or can they just be thrown away? Help please!

You could just toss them. They've got glass that could be recycled, but not much of it. There's nothing toxic like cellphone batteries or electronics.

They're just glass, metal, and glue. Into the trash they go.
