I heard that Italy was pagan and Ireland was Christian after Rome fell. Can someone clarify?

The Roman Empire that it (Western).I am speaking of the lands that we now call Ireland and Italy- to clarify.

Update:

Anon didn't understand the question and Paganus seems to know something, so he knows how early Christianity spread, thus making his narrative void of two commas and substance.

After the fall of Rome, Italy it was controlled by pagan rulers until the Eastern Roman Empire conquered it. There were still Christians in the area, though they were sometimes persecuted.

The Celtic Christian Church continued in Ireland and Wales during this time.

Yes, ancient Italy was once pagan, and yes, Christianity spread to ancient Ireland after the Roman Empire fell. Duh. Are you trying to ask something more specific?

Are you trying to ask if Ireland became part of Christendom before Rome did? In that case, the answer is no.

St Patrick brought christianity to Ireland by murdering all the pagans that refused to convert. Apparently it was an absolute bloodbath, a genocide with men women and children slaughtered.
