Summit Racing. I have bought at least a dozen engines from them. They are great.

If it were me, and you are asking this question, I would find someplace nationwide (like the GM dealer) that offers a warranty on their installed motors. I would then have them install it, and whether crap or not, it's their problem to fix, not yours.

Personally I rebuild my own, but I realize that isn't for everyone. Still no warranty. If not having to work on it again is your thing, then my opinion is GM dealer. Unless you can get the same out of another company that has locations everywhere, I wouldn't consider them, as a warranty is worthless if it is only good at the shop in Wilmington, and you are in Wyoming.

There is MUCH junk out there in the Crate engine world...Including GM Performance Parts.

Source(s): Camshaft design/manufacture, full competition race engine building/development, failure analysis of internal engine components, Carb blueprinting, drivability/MPG/durability expert, chem analysis of fuel, super-tuner. I'll help/advise you, make/sell you cams, etc. I'm MUCH too busy to baby-sit you for free. I get MANY emails from Yahoo Answers. A few buyers from here, even. That said, I WILL answer a private email or two, but please don't slam me with endless emails asking endless questions or for me to hold your hand. PLEASE don't ask me to pick a cam for you made by someone else. I make and sell cams, not answer "Can you tell me what size and brand of cam to buy" questions. The only answer is "You can buy one from me, I'll make you one". Cam specs are reserved for buyers only, sorry, as I won't do camshaft homework for shoppers who then buy a non-comparable elsewhere. I'm here to help, aim to please, but don't work for free.

Monkeyboy is correct on that part. Either go on your own with Summit or if your feeling lazy & want a good warranty, have the dealership install it. But the warranties on those usually only last about 12/12. 12 months & 12,000 miles
