Acer computer is stuck at "Acer" screen after upgrading GPU?
My friend recently just bought a GTX 780, upgrading from a 650 Ti, and he plugged it in his computer, with the 6 and 8 pin. But when he boots his computer up, it's stuck at the Acer screen at startup (it's a prebuilt Acer computer that he upgraded). Since we aren't too advanced in this stuff, how can we get past this? He has a 550 watt power supply, Corsair TX series; I assumed it was enough, but it might be the problem. Thanks!

The PSU is probably too small. The GTX780 specifies a 575W PSU, and that means a good name brand PSU with a single +12V rail design. If his PSU has multiple +12V rails, or is some cheaper brand, that could be the problem.

All PSU age over time, even after a couple of years, their ratings drop, and cannot supply that full power 100% of the time any longer.
