Is it normal to forget books you liked?

I only remember a few things about some books and that worries me.

Every human being has a different memory capacity.

I've experienced it as well so I assume it's common.

I started keeping a book journal that I write in after every book I've enjoyed (and even the ones that weren't so great). I'll write what I liked about it, how I identified with the characters, what I learned from it, some of the quotes that struck me as profound. Most of the time, reading the journal entry will jog my memory of the story and why I found it so appealing.

Sadly yes, it sucks you forget the book but know you really liked it and then when you reread it again you only remember bits and pieces of it. You don't remember it but you can't experience the story just like you did when you first read it. :(

It's totally normal. It's abnormal to remember so much unless you're a genius. Don't sweat it, you get busy, life gets in the way, you will forget things. We all do.
