Minecraft, Viruses, & Apple products?
All-in-one question, folks. A relative of mine is tired of getting viruses on their PC while playing Minecraft. A have a few questions, and I would greatly appreciate any information:
#1 - Should playing Minecraft cause viruses on a PC?
#2 - Can you play ALL VERSIONS and ALL ASPECTS of Minecraft on Apple products? My understanding is that there are different ways in which you can play Minecraft. I don't play it, so I don't even understand that. My understanding is that you can create games, or you can play the game in different ways. Maybe you can fill me in on what that means. Most important - I need to know if you can play Minecraft in all its variations on various Apple products. MacBooks? iPads? What else? Any limitations with Apple?
#3 - Is there anything you can do to prevent viruses attacking while playing Minecraft on a PC?
#4 - Is there any risk of viruses on Apple products?
THANK YOU for any help you might be able to offer!!! It's greatly appreciated, and equally appreciated if folks wouldn't just speculate without actually knowing what they're talking about.

1) Unless you install mods that contain viruses (e.g. from developers trying to hack into your computer) you should not get viruses while playing Minecraft normally.
2) You can play all versions of Minecraft on Apple computers, but in order to play Minecraft on iDevices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) you must have Minecraft PE (Pocket Edition).
3) The virus is not specifically on Minecraft, but if you download mods that contain viruses, your antivirus program should detect the virus.
4) There is no risk of viruses on Apple products.

1. No. The only way that playing minecraft would cause a virus is if you create a server and somebody hacks into your Internet. But the chances of that are VERY slim.
2. You can play a minecraft mobile version on things like iPod Touches, iPads, ect. And on a Mac you can play regular PC version. You might have to install a different version of it though that's mac compatable. I have no idea what you mean by the rest of that. Minecraft is a very versatile game. You can play single player, or multiplayer. In it you simply well... Mine and craft, build, survive. There are also things like adventure maps and mods. Those need to be downloaded or installed. Installing mods or adventure maps is more difficult on a Mac, but it's possible. So yes, they will run all "aspects" of minecraft.
3. Again, as long as you don't set up a public server you won't get viruses. Even if you do that's probably not going to happen.
4. Nobody really tries to hack apple products, so viruses aren't really made for them. But it is possible.

1. If you download Minecraft from the official website, you will NOT get viruses.
2. Minecraft versions on Macs and PCs are identical. The handheld versions have more limitations, but they're improving everyday.
3. Playing minecraft WON'T give you viruses, as long as you downloaded it from the official site.
4. Because more people own PCs than Macs, more viruses are made for Windows than Mac OS. Therefore, Macs have a lower chance of getting viruses than PCs, but they can still get viruses.
