If charged with stalking and no one is hurt and there was no restraining order in place is there jail time?
Got charged with stalking over words that were said none were carried out cops came and arrested me after report was filed and I was no were near the person and haven't seen them for months. The charge is threats of violence and stalking no proof of damage or harm to him his family or property.

"Just words" can be pretty frightening, and they cause harm in themselves.
I don't know what you did, but the fact you weren't physically close by has nothing to do with it.
