I've encountered others but neglected to save the track so can't find my way back. I'm not expecting any answers to the secret of life. Just wondering why there is a fascination with this kind of music.

    It's background music. You will find similar Indian-like tracks for regular American movie soundtracks as well. It sets the tone when needed.
