I hear that using ones own tissue is often not the best way to reconstruct. It doesn't look as good as the implants (too much scarring, looking more misshaped).

There can also be problems with silicone (looking too fake), but this can be fixed with fat grafting (so it'd be both the implant and your own fat-tissue).

They use silicone for breast implants. I would talk to the plastic surgeon about it and see all the pro's and con's. I have seen both ways and what it really depends on is the surgeon. Silicone is harder to mess up and the silicone implants are more consistent in shape. Whichever you chose please make it appropriate to your body size. The best breast implants are the implants that you can't tell they are implants. After working as a surgical nurse for more than two decades, a good breast reconstructive is worth their weight in gold. Don't scrimp on something that lasts a lifetime.
