Why didn't they answer me what happened?

So I was talking to these 2 guys, one is a bit of an asshole and the other is sweet but has a problem with the law. The asshole one will more likely than not keep a conversation up with me when I start it but twice now he just hasn't at all... (Long story with me and him I'm sure he likes me but is too stubborn to admit it) And the other one has court this month and I've tried checking up on him and literally no response (we have hooked up twice but talking had stopped recently because of personal problems on his end). So why did they just stop talking to me all of a sudden? Why will guys just do this? And I'm not trying to boast that I was talking to two guys so don't say that please and thanks.
