Can I freeze the turkey that I purchase?
from my local deli counter at the supermarket? The deli meat I like was half the price today! I'd like to buy more but don't want it to go to waste, I am hoping it will freeze okay.
Thanks very much for taking the time to answer my question.

I do that a lot as it is hour and half to town and when I want sandwich, I would not need to drive 3 hours just to have one!
I do not think it changes the flavor or texture to freeze the deli meats. It freezes just fine. I do make small batches in ziploc bags.

Catherine, you can. I have done it with the deli roast turkey slices, I frozen it in batches, didn't like it after it was frozen, not the same taste.
For a couple of pennies I wouldn't bother, buy it fresh all the time.

Wrap it up tight, it is very suseptible to dry out in the freezer. don't make the package too thick, so it will dfrost faster.
And you can subdivide you package of meat into individual servings or as big as you would like. that is what Rivers does.

You can freeze them just keep them separated or in small portions and make sure it is dry when you freeze it.
