clam chowder tastes like flour... remedy?
how do i make my clam chowder not taste like flour? the roux tastes too floury how do i remedy this once it is already all done?

Next time, you need to cook the roux a while, to cancel out the floury taste.
Now, You might consider adding a bit of milk and cooking it longer.
You might try adding some spice, like a bay leaf, or some Old Bay. but taste test it first, to see if you will like it.
You might try adding some vegetable, like corn or carrots or celery to help hide the taste.

I love good clam chowder. I wish I had an answer for your problem I have had some fantastic chowder and some that tastes like sh**.
Maybe yours is one of the latter instead of the former and can't be fixed. See if your dog can eat it then find a better recipe.

it tastes like flour because the roux wasn't cooked long enough.
Cooking the chowder further will increase thickness and get rid of the raw flour taste.

Never had that trouble, but I would strain off all the liquid and cook it a bit longer, then re add what was strained out.
