What happens if we do not buy exchange insuranse today?

... or if we want to purchase private insurance tomarrow?

    Exchange insurance plans ARE the same as any other insurance plans to be offered in 2014. You can buy insurance from anywhere you want. The exchange plans offer a way to get a tax credit. You have until March 31 to be insured.
