How are mormons reacting to Utah becoming the latest state to allow gay marriage?
Other than desperately appealing the decision (and losing), asking for a stay in implementing it twice (and losing both), and blaming the mormon judge who ruled their ban unconstitutional for being an "activist judge" who "overrode the will of the people of Utah?"
"Why focus only on the Mormons. They believe in upholding the law, regardless of whether it supports their views or not."
Oh, you betcha. That's why they disobeyed federal law regarding polygamy for over 40 years, nearly started a war with the US over it, and after being threatened with putting their leaders in jail, they ran off to Mexico and kept right on doing it, long after their "manifesto" saying they would stop. That's also why they were the first church in California history to be fined for election fraud in the Prop. 8 campaign. Oops.

There seems to be a remarkable lack of hysteria. Maybe everyone is too distracted by the holidays or other news stories but if you told me Utah would legalize gay marriage so soon, I would have expected Mormons to react like it was the Apocalypse. Instead, the Utah Boy Scouts were delivering pizzas to gay marrying clerks!! Merry Christmas.

They move on with their lives.
A better question would be to ask the fundies how they are reacting to these things. Why focus only on the Mormons. They believe in upholding the law, regardless of whether it supports their views or not. Obedience, for the Mormons (members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) is the first _law_ of heaven.
The church issued a statement and beyond that, people continue to live as they will. No big deal, even though you and others want to make it something very, very big and newsworthy.

Church Statement on Court Ruling
Regarding Same-Sex Marriage in Utah
Salt Lake City —
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued the following statement Friday after a court ruling on same-sex marriage in Utah:
The Church has been consistent in its support of traditional marriage while teaching that all people should be treated with respect. This ruling by a district court will work its way through the judicial process. We continue to believe that voters in Utah did the right thing by providing clear direction in the state constitution that marriage should be between a man and a woman and we are hopeful that this view will be validated by a higher court.

I don't really care about how Mormons are reacting and neither should you. It is their business.
