Why aren't conservatives crying about how much government money Big Oil gets?

Good question. Bailing out corporations is no different from welfare, and conservatives are always bitching about socialism.

Part of the effect of the Obama recession is that I can no longer afford to keep a car on the road, so gas prices don't affect me very much. Big oil is too powerful, but I have to think that if Obama gets involved we will be mandated by law to buy gasoline even if we don't have cars. He would probably teach big oil a lesson the same way he taught the insurance companies a lesson, by increasing their profits at the expense of the American people.

Go Ahead! Take the "subsidies" away from energy companies. and who will the price increases hurt the most? the rich liberal who drives a brand new prius?

-because they are not aware that big oil is being subsidized by the government, and that information is not readily available nor easy to understand even if they are aware. it is simply easier to focus and criticize the the other end of the economic spectrum.

And where do you get the claim of subsidies? This is a list of revenue and profit. Reading comprehension is not your strong suit.

Do you realize the oil and gas exploration/exploitation businesses in this country through their new horizontal drilling and fracking techniques are about to usher in a new boom in our economy by lowering manufacturing costs (manufactures are wanting to move the America now due to cheaper energy costs of out natural gas) and will be responsible for our trade balance shifting in our favor very soon? You should be congratulating them and asking them what else we can do to make their business a success, not demonizing them.
