I love beef au jus but only as long as it is not cooked that much. Saute some onions and peppers and add your beef stock or beef broth. Add sliced beef just enough to warm it through. I would say only about 10-15 seconds. If it is overcooked it gets super tough. Sometimes the guy who makes it in the kitchen I work in makes for the cafeteria and I always say why he just does not make the au jus and let the cafeteria people put the beef in. Hope I helped kevin

If your crock pot is on high? About....................that long. On low? Twice that. Deli beef is cooked so a quick really heat is all you need. Any longer then a quick dip it will go tough on ya. Yep been there done that. What we have done is have the beef on a platter to the side with jus held on high in the pot. Guests could grab what they wanted with tongs and give it a quick dip. Then stack on the weck how they wanted it.
