What could this be? Kind of embarrassing...?
So this is kind of embarrassing, but I wanted some input. For a while now, I've noticed after having a bowel movement, there is this soft lump inside my anus. I haven't looked at it but felt it. I notice it especially after straining.
Now, it's not painful and there hasn't been any blood in my stool. I'm not sure what it could be. Can it be a hemorrhoid even though it's painless? Does anyone have any guesses as to what it can possibly be? I'm 21 years old btw.
Thanks.

Not all hemorrhoids are painful all the time. Do a little research on the subject.

Internal (inside) hemorrhoids develop within the anus beneath the lining. Painless bleeding and protrusion during bowel movements are the most common symptom. However, an internal hemorrhoid can cause severe pain if it is completely "prolapsed" - protrudes from the anal opening and cannot be pushed back inside.

Sounds like a haemorrhoid to me as well. I had an external one for well over a year. It increased in size one day and then went away on it's own - typically before my Doctor could inspect it.
Don't be embarrassed. Doctors check anus's frequently. It will probably be a pleasant change to get a younger patient.

Probably just a hemorrhoid. Unlikely for you do have a prolapse at your age unless you have a child. Get some fybogel and some hemorrhoidal suppositories.

Without looking I can't be sure but I bet that is exactly how a "prolapse" feels.
The colon folds itself a little outside of the anus
