Why does everyone say circumcision is the best here in 'murica?
Like all I hear is people saying circumcision is the best because it supposedly stops HIV and what not. But I think that is complete bologna because we have a pretty high STD and HIV rate while intact countries like the UK and Austrailia dont have high rates of that.
So why does 'murica want/recommend circumcision like it's the law?

because it is an ingrained tradition and it is taboo to talk about. There isn't a good reason why Americans practice it, but doctors make money with a huge profit margin and the babies cant complain about it. Parents aren't in the room while it is being done to see the horrific screams of pain the baby goes through either.
Those studies that show HIV protection were done in third world counties which do not relate to 1st world nations. With condom use and education, the rates are of STDs are unaffected by circumcision. It was only a 50% drop -among high risk individuals it is absolutely useless.
I did a 20 page research paper on infant circumcision. There is no logical reason to to it to a baby as in the US, but most of the arguments for it are based around the bandwagon appeal and ignorance/lack of knowledge. Doctors around the 1st world nations, with the exception of american doctors, have found it is only detrimental to the child's health and well being to this elective procedure.
When I say ignorance/lack of knowledge:
We have showers
We have condoms
We have medical care for almost all problems
We have outlawed all female circumcision (class 1-4, and 4 is as little as a prick -WHO)
For STDs, circumcision only protects a male from a female in vaginal sex only (CDC)
We want kids to be like other kids (as in being cut), yet we want them to be themselves
And a lack respect of the basic human body rights.
I am an american, and was cut without my permission.

Parents do it because it is the perceived norm, but that is changing. Non-circumcision is the norm in 12 states. Only 54 percent of the baby boys born in 2010 were circumcised. 46 percent were not circumcised.
The idea that circumcision stops HIV is junk science. Actually, the opposite is true. The foreskin has immunological functions that protect against infection with HIV and other pathogens.
The American Academy of Pediatrics promotes circumci$ion so that its members can make more money. It is that simple. Hospitals promote circumcision for the same reason.

How about a study reviewing a very large group to see if cutting genital parts affects HIV risk. Oh wait that has been ongoing for more than 50 years. The results are in. Cut men (men that have had parts of their penis cut off as a baby) get HIV and STDS at a higher rate -- natural (intact) EU has much lower HIV and STD rate than cut US. Shouldn't that just end this mutilation campaign by high HIV risk partial genital Americans??

I may have something to do with religious nerds
like John Harvey Kellogg = who developed cornflakes because
they were supposed to reduce sexual lust = and Alan Guttmacher
= who edited Parenting magazine = both of whom
were convinced circumcision prevented masturbation, waging
great publicity campaigns pushing it.
Originally they claimed it prevented cancer.
When this was disproved they cooked up the AIDS claim
with no evidence whatsoever.
The U.S.A. with high circumcision has twice the HIV rate
of Europe where circumcision is very low and over
four times the HIV rate in Russia where circumcision is
almost non-existant. Doesn't add up.

It's done because it's perceived to be the "done thing" and because doctors make money off it they don't tell parents that It's a completely unnecessary surgery.
Don't believe the nonsense about being healthier, cleaner or providing protection against anything. Over 40years with a foreskin and I never had any issues, never caught a std or had an infection. My boys are all intact too.
Most of the rest of the world does not circumcise because it is totally unnecessary and should be the individuals choice when they are old enough to make it.

Male genital mutilation is not best. It is nothing more than an evil abomination that serves no practical purpose on Earth!
This mutilation does not prevent nor reduce HIV. Male genital mutilation has been known to increase the risk of HIV, STIs, MRSA, meatitis, meatal stenosis, meatal ulcers, urinary tract infections, adhesions, premature ejaculation, and erectile dysfunction. The foreskin is a protective tissue that contains mucous membranes and specialized enzymes, thus, destroying this protective makes the penis more susceptible to diseases and infections.
The notion that male genital mutilation protect against HIV is a lie that was tricked up by deceptive male genital mutilation supporters. People should be very cautious of these male genital mutilation supporters because these supporters are way out in irrational land. These supporters continue to spread deception about this mutilation and people need to disregard these supporters. The supporters of male genital mutilation do not base their arguments on logic, instead they base their arguments on deceit, myths, superstitions, greed, cultural traditions, and religions. This HIV lie has made mutilated men more likely to refuse wearing condom.

well in my opinion, circumcision is good for the body because it uncovers the dick head and makes us healthy. And also, it makes us hygienic and away from infections and irritations. it is also more beautiful to look at.
