How to share files from a Win 7 laptop to a Win XP Desktop in terms a redneck can understand?

I downloaded a file too big for a DVD+R and I need to move it From the Win7 Laptop to the Win XP desktop

    If you have them networking, you have to turn file sharing on one or the other on the folder the files are in or a temp folder that is to be the destination of the file. Google like network shares or file sharing and your OS and I am sure you will find how to do it.

    The other way is to drag it to a flash drive or USB drive.
