what can I do with children at the pond?

I am currently with my brother,and he is bored out of his mind.there is a little pond close by,and our parents gave me permission to take him there.What can we do at the pond that doesn't involve me hrowing my brother in?? it's too cold to actually go into the pond.any suggestions?

    Fold a boat out of paper, put it in the pond, and then throw rocks at it to sink it. Or you can throw rocks around it to make waves and make it float across.

    If you can find flat rocks, you can skip rocks.

    You could try making a list of plants/animals/objects that might be found near the pond and then challenge your brother to find them all (while supervising him obviously). He might find that fun, depending on his age.

    Is there ducks there? If there is - you could feed them.
