It's easier to just start from scratch.

Add more butter than the recipe calls for. Also only leave them in until the edges are done. Make sure after you take them out you let them cool for a good 10 to 15 minutes before removing them from the sheet. Those tips usually work for me. Good luck.

You don't. Look at the back of the package and read the ingredients. Most things you will not recognize as anything that comes from your own cupboards.

I don't know in terms of taste, but you could always reshape them so they don't come out in perfect circles.
