Why do so many Africans smoke cigarettes?
*When I say Africans, I mean from Africa*
So while reading articles about the dangers of smoking; I noticed a detail that shocked me: Many tobacco companies are using mass marketing in the developing continent of Africa. Why is that?

tobacco has been smoked by aboriginals LONG BEFORE the tobacco companies "discovered" they can sell it for profit. Only two or three generations ago, smoking pure tobacco rolled up as thin cigarettes or fat cigars and chewing tobacco can be found in human cultures. You can find tobacco smoking in all continents on the planet, not just Africa

The big tobacco manufactures have lost profit in the west due to health concerns so they have now targeted other parts of the world to boost profits.
