The question should be "Who is the Holy Spirit"? He is the author of the Bible, inspiring men to pen the holy and inerrant word of God. He is the helper, who produces the fruits of the Christian life (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control). He is always with us, inspiring the Christian walk of faith and a great gift.

The difference between catholic and protestant is mostly theological. The Bible is a complicated and messy text, and the interpretations vary greatly in how God was directing us to worship and serve him. The thing that unites the faiths is that we both believe that Christ was sent, according to the scriptures, was killed, buried, and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures.

    1. The Holy Spirit is the third part of the triune godhead. It is the emotional force through which the will of God the Father is carried out.

    2. Catholics follow the pope and Vatican, even when their teachings don't necessarily align with the Bible. They promote themselves as original despite not coming into existence until hundreds of years after the term "Christian" was first used and the church officially forming following the crucifixion, recorded in the book of Acts. Protestants is an umbrella term for all Christian denominations that broke away from the Catholic church during the Reformation after their attempts to correct the incalculable corruption that riddled the Catholic church failed and they were unable to restore the decency to a corrupted system and leadership, making the Bible available to all man rather than being held only by the Catholic church leadership in the attempt to control the people and dictate mandates over faith and knowledge of basis texts.

At the root, both groups claim faith in Jesus Christ, but to a great deal that's where they part ways. Catholics tend to add works to that faith and esteem traditions of man even when they go against Scriptures. Protestants, for the most part despite there being some fringe groups with their own ideals, believe that works prove faith but don't add to salvation and that Jesus sacrifice and word is sufficient.

The other big difference between them is the form of church government.
