so i am a sunni muslim in general but..?

my family say they are only muslims, and not any sect although we are sunni muslims! its a good thing but if i consider myself, i normally follow fiqah hanafi in few things but there are some things i do not like about sunnis e.g shrine visiting, celebrating eid milad ul nabi and that they boast alot! and few things i like about wahabis which include contradicting above rituals of sunnis and also like salafis because they want to reenact the laws of sahabas time..etc and there are many other things like that so i follow any thing which i feel is accurate according to quran and sunna. But is it wrong? Or should i strictly follow any one sect? Some sunni scholars say its wrong to switch between fiqhs?

Please answer if you have full knowledge about it.

p.s. people who think it is a stupid question please IGNORE. Thankyou. :)

It is not a stupid question at all!

We don't follow anything blindly; we only follow that which we have proofs that - Muhammad(saws) and his companions practiced/approved.

Milad-un-Nabi, visiting shrines - are complete bidah(innovations) - and I don't believe it is in the Hanafi Madhab either.

Never the less - we should not attach ourselves to any Madhab i.e school of thoughts(Hanafi, shafiee....) --- we should only follow Muhammad(saws) - i.e the ways of the Salaf.

Sunni mean's that you follow the same actions of the prophet

and his friends to be a good person , and about fiqah , the sunnah do not split , but have other opinions on things the prophet did , like when you clean up for prayer *wodou* some people say you must rub your hair with your hands wet and some people say you can do the front of the hair , but it's all right and you can do what you find more comfortable to you

Even though I am not Muslim and am ignorant on the different sects of Islam I will answer not to attack but to give you an outsiders view I will not attack.

I say read as much as you can get your hands on figure out when the different sects started and why and how they developed.

I didn't know there were any sects of muslims, till 16 years of age. Muslims shouldn't even have any sects. I say just follow the Quran.

Ask again in Society & Culture>Holidays>Ramadan. This category has a handful of Christians and an overflow of Atheist trolls. Very few pious Muslims linger in this den of sin.
