question about sects in islam?

i am a sunni muslim in general

my family say they are only muslims, and not any sect although we are sunni muslims! its a good thing but if i consider myself, i normally follow fiqah hanafi in few things but there are some things i do not like about sunnis e.g shrine visiting, celebrating eid milad ul nabi and that they boast alot! and few things i like about wahabis which include contradicting above rituals of sunnis and also like salafis because they want to reenact the laws of sahabas time..etc and there are many other things like that so i follow any thing which i feel is accurate according to quran and sunna. But is it wrong? Or should i strictly follow any one sect? Some sunni scholars say its wrong to switch between fiqhs?

We don't follow anything blindly; we only follow that which we have proofs of - that Muhammad(saws) and his companions practiced/approved.

Milad-un-Nabi, visiting shrines - are complete bidah(innovations) - and I don't believe it is in the Hanafi Madhab either.

Never the less - we should not attach ourselves to any particular Madhab i.e school of thoughts(Hanafi, shafiee....) --- we should only follow Muhammad(saws) - i.e the ways of the Salaf.

((no madhab say that you are allowed to uncover your hair, so what's with your avatar?))

    ------

~ Prophet ﷺ on his last sermon said - "I leave behind me two things, the Quran and my example, the Sunnah, and if you follow these you will never go astray.”

~Reasons behind different opinions or schools of fiqh -->> In some cases, some scholars may not have known of daleel whilst others did.

    ________

Allaah has made our worship based on His Book and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The right way is to understand the texts of sharee’ah as they were understood by the Sahaabah

The four imaams and founders of the schools of Islamic fiqh (Imaam Abu Haneefah, Imaam Maalik, Imaam al-Shaafa’i and Imaam Ahmad) – may Allaah have mercy on them all – all followed the texts of the Sharee’ah and their efforts were all focused on teaching and spreading sound Islamic knowledge. All of them were on the right path, and all were devoted followers of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). If mistakes happened, then the Sahaabah made mistakes too. The things to be followed in Sharee’ah are those for which evidence (daleel) is established. In some cases, some scholars may not have known of daleel whilst others did, but this does not mean that their knowledge and ability is to be discredited. All of them were seeking to find and propagate the truth. If a person wants to follow one of the Imaams and adopt his madhhab, then he should follow him in matters for which there is clear, sound daleel, for this is what is required in Islam, but he should not develop partisan or sectarian feelings towards anybody. It is not permissible for the Muslim to believe that he must follow a certain way if that contradicts the way of the prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

sunnism does not advocate shrine visiting. Are you in india or pakistan? That is part of the culture in those SEA countries, same for milad ul nabi, sunnism does not advocate this.

I would stay away from the other two, btw they are also sunnis, just a different type. I know its confusing, but its true.

As for your main question, I am NOT an alim, but I would think "jumping" between madhabs (hanafi for example, is a madhab, or school of thought) should be okay, though as you said some scholars would say its not. BUT if each madhab follows Quran/Sunnah, then each ruling should be ok, see my point?

So I would say, Allahu alam (God knows best), that so long as it is Quran/Sunnah, it is okay to follow.

    salam :)

    Go for Ahlehadees Salafis.

They are purely following 100% on the way of Prophet saws and his Companions ra.

Whatever they say is from Quran and Sunnah and to the comprehension of Sahaba karam raziallanha.

Imam Abu Hanifa rahimahullah too followed Quran and Sunnah but he warned his students like all other imams that if you find any Saheeh Grade Hadith against his Fatwa then they should leave his fatwa and follow Saheeh Hadith,

Saheeh hadith are all with authentic chain reaching upto Prophet Muhammad saws.

Same is not true about Imam Abu Hanifas fatwas as there is no sanad and Imam Abu Hanifa didnot write any book himself. His fiqh was compiled after his death several decades after without any sanad.

there are no sects in Islam. Your family is right, they are just muslims. You follow the Sunnah and the Qur'an. We shouldn't divide ourselves, it's not allowed. I'm a muslim and only a muslim. You should be a muslim, and not a sunni or shia or w/e. Allah (swt) called us muslims. Be a muslim.
