Does birth control work even if you don't follow the instruction paper?

I take the birth control pill everyday just for my hormones. I don't follow the paper it comes with. I had sex. We used the pull out method. Yes I know I can still get pregnant. But if he pulled out and I'm on this pill what are the chances of being pregnant? Does the pill still work if I take it without following total instructions? Please all answers are great

The pill loses effectiveness as a prevention for pregnancy if you do not take it regularly (at the same time every day, without missing any days). So yes, you can still be pregnant. The failure rate of pills is about 1-2% when used perfectly, and rises with every missed or late pill. The failure rate of "pulling out" is about 30%. Next time use a real method of birth control.

That rather depends on WHICH instructions you don't follow.
