Cummins or Powerstroke?
So im looking at purchasing a diesel for towing in the near future.
the look and interior of the f-250 is nicer, but i would prefer the cummins engine
i like the cummins engine, the look is nice, but a bit out dated, but interior is crap.
Pros and cons of each?

Cummins makes the best engine, Ford makes the best suspension, Chevy makes the best frame, and Allison makes the best transmission.
Pick your poison.
If you're going to be buying used, Ford isn't bad because they've worked the bugs out of the later Powerstrokes. I'd steer clear of their new Ford built engines. The Dodge is definitely going to have the best diesel engine, although the Duramax isn't that bad either.

The Cummins is superior to the 6.0L Powerstokes
The 7.3L Powerstroke and the Cummins are about equal overall (when comparing trucks of the same vintage)
The 6.7L Powerstroke doesn't have any chronic problems, it's probably a safe bet, it's comparable to the Cummins in terms of performance.
The Dmax is better than the 6.0L Powerstroke, and equal to 7.3L Powerstroke, and comparable (if a little less powerful) than current the 6.7L Powerstroke and Cummins.
I wouldn't bother with a 6.0L Powerstroke unless it's been bulletproofed and the seller has receipts. The 7.3L Powerstrokes you're likely to encounter will be older models with high mileage. I wouldn't have any reservations about the 6.7L Powerstroke, though.
